Bats in the Belfrey

Almah orders the party to scout ahead, and see the status of the Old Monastery.  After more than 800 years of neglect, the monastery has fallen into ruin.  The walls are mostly intact, but the wooden structures are rotten, and a few towers have collapsed.

Two large openings lead into a large hall.  Scrub brush and weeds are invading the building.  Billy carefully scouts ahead and spots a pugwampis on top of a gnoll skull chandelier.  Alerting the party they move up and try to pick off the pugwampis at range.  Failing a quick kill, the pugwampis is pulled up by rope by fellow gremlins.  The other pugwampis overhead begin to shoot at the party.  After most of the pugwampis group falls, the remaining retreat higher into the rafters.

Luce moves up the ladder and is followed by the rest of the party.  Up in the upper works of the chapel, the king of the pugwampis directs his minions to attack.  With the unseemly aura generated by the pugwampis, combat is slow going.  Billy stays out of range and shoots at the king, Luce moves in and bashes minions with his morning star.  Kushi closes with the king pugwampis.  Lars holds back and lauches spells at the pugwampis.  Slowly the party turns the combat in their favor, killing the king and capturing the last pugwampis.  Warning the pugwampis to gather his buddies and leave the monastery, the party releases him.

Goat and the Darkness

The party is introduced to itself when everyone is recruited for caravan duty by Garavel.  Garavel is the major-domo of the merchant princess, awaiting them at their destination.  The group travels a week out of Solku before arriving at the Sultan's claw, a peculiar shaped tree at the south edge of the Kelmarane surrounds.

Right as the party arrives at the campsite, a fire has broken out in one of the wagons.  The party scatters and helps in various tasks of moving a nearby wagon, helping the water bucket brigade to put out the fire, heal the wounded, and help calm the caravan's animals.  The fire is quenched before it can spread, and the only victim was the Varisian fortune teller Eloais.

An investigation is ordered to determine the cause of the fire.  Since the party members had not yet arrived in camp, they are put in charge.  Initial indicators made the gnoll expert Dashki, the principal suspect.  But a theory that a pugwampis could have caused the misfortune, had to be considered.  The camel drivers have lost their favorite goat, Rombard, and ask the party to search for him as they look for a pugwampis in the darkness.

Billy says "Pugwampis of unusual size... I don't think they exist", about the time the trail of Rombard and a tiny humanoid are discovered.  Following, the trail the party finds the cactus thicket where the goat has wandered into.  Zhadora wanders into the thicket as Billy spots the pugwampi that had abducted the goat.  Max has Billy hold his shot, as Zhadora slowly navigates the thorns.  Zhadora frees the goat only to be suddenly attacked by the hiding Pugwampis.  As the attack begins, Billy shoots and wounds the pugwampis.  The pugwampis is captured alive a brought back to camp.  Pugwampis are a type of gremlin that cause bad luck whenever they are around.  The caravan leader, princess Almah Roveshki, orders the beast destroyed before anything else happens.

The Game Begins

Heretofore referred to as "The Little Rascals in the Legacy of Fire"

This will be a Pathfinder, non-PFS, game.  Characters shall use the 20-point buy, and follow the standards in the Core Rulebook, Advanced Player's Guide, Ultimate Combat, Ultimate Magic, and Ultimate Equipment.  Any other variations must be GM approved.  Starting level 1 characters get max gold from their class.  We are using the Medium advancement track for level progression.

The adventure path chosen, by general consensus, is the Legacy of Fire.  I encourage everyone to read the Player's Guide.  The setting starts in Katapesh, and the capital Katapesh is a very free trade and cosmopolitan city.

As before a 50 XP reward will be issued for PCs with a 200-word-minimum background.  A 100 XP reward for a 400-word-minimum background.

Character story perspectives, e.g. Rudolpho's Diary, are worth 50 XP/character level.  Certain downtime activities will be implemented from the Ultimate Campaign Guide.

More later.
