Splish, Splash, She Was Taking A Bath

A few rounds after the elder elemental falls, a group of large elementals come into the hall to continue the battle.  The party makes quick work of them and resumes the exploration of the hall.  In one room, they find a mirror that scries into the other areas of the reliquary.  The ghost dude shows up in the mirror again and yammers on about some artifact called the Impossible Eye being the key to the curse upon the palace.

At the last room, there is a fountain that fills the room with moisture and is cooler in temperature.  This provides some relief from the heat of the rest of the palace.  From out of the fountain, a marid takes shape and tells the party of her entrapment, the curse of the palace, the history of Jhavuhl, and what is probably the key to escaping.  The party agrees to help free her.

Reaching the end of this section of basement, the party goes back through the treasury to travel the molten canal.  At the other end, they find a brass boat hovering above the molten flow.  The party quickly move up the stairs behind the boat, and travel upward to a large room overlooking the flow below.   A brass juggernaut attacks from out of its alcove, but is simply too slow to surprise the party.  Defeating it quickly, the party travels over a smaller flow to a secret door.  This door leads up into a sewer drain on the level above.

Oh, Oh, Oh, I'm On Fire

Arriving at the top of the stairs, the group enters a reliquary.  There are many open and empty chests on pedistals, and a dead efreet (Sammadar) hanging by his feet in iron shackles.  Grovth cries out in anguish as the azer look nervously at each other.  Lars comforts Grovth, "There, there, buddy.  We'll kill that nasty Jhavuhl who is responsible for this."  Grovth nods and saves his rage to avenge his dead friend and master.

Exploring further down the hall, Kushii notes that there is something funny about a mirror.  Stepping back as she does, fire elementals begin pouring out of secret doors on opposite sides of the hall.  Grovth and the azer join in and help the party, through a long grueling battle.  The leader of the fire elementals is an elder, in the shape of a dragon.  He proves especially tough, as a few azer fall to his brutal slams.  The party is victorious, and Grovth survives to continue his quest, as does an azer named Habanero Cockburn.

As The Worm Turns

The party finally makes its way out of treasury, and wonders through a couple rooms with really elaborate frescoes.  In one of the rooms, the adventures stumble upon a group of azer mamluks.  They are barricaded against something from the far entrance.  Stranger still, they are led by a bodak named Grovth.  Apparently they were separated from their master, an efreet named Sammadar, when the creature at the bottom of a stairwell attacked.

After a bit of diplomacy, everyone agrees they should team up and battle the worm-like creature together.  Prepared, the group attacks the creature (the Get of Iblis) as Lars recalls.  Several of the mamluks fall while the battle ensues.  Ultimately, the combined groups overcome the horror at the bottom of the stairs.

Lars sneaks in a control undead, and makes friends with the bodak.
