The Gang is All Here

Uncle Tolo pays 1000 GP to each character for recovery of the two urns.  Uncle Tolo also suggests showing the recovered scroll to Alma.  Alma's eyes widen as she examines the scroll and informs the party of its significance.  Alma knows an expert that can provide more information, and he is located in Katapesh.  Alma says she will provide a letter of introduction and Garavel with a few guards as escort.

The party takes a few days to prepare, load up, and then head out.   After a couple of days, as the party begins to camp at an oasis.  A giant sand worm attacks the party.  The party scatters apart as the monster bursts through the sand.  Billy hops up on the back of his camel and starts shooting.  The rest of the party closes in and discovers that the beast can spew both lighting and acid.  But the massive creature is no match for the hearty adventurers.

Then as the party leave the oasis the next day, some hapless rube [insert name here] asks to join the caravan.  He claims that bandits struck and he got separated.  No one trusts him.

A couple more days go by and the party is set upon by a large group of brigands and gnolls.  Seeing the havoc that they loosed on the oasis, the party readies for combat.  The gnoll pack leader is a sorceress and there is an ettin backing them up.  Charging into the fray Luce makes short work of everything he swings at.  Kushii follows.  Lars, Billy and Itarilde provide artillery support.  Victory is quickly won.

They still don't trust the rube.

  2. Didn't the characters get another 2,500 gp each reward from someone else?
